HISTORY
  • November 30, 1950 - erected as Territorial Prelature of Batanes Islands and Babuyan, territory split off from the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Manila. 
  • June 29, 1951 - became part of the ecclesiastical province of Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. 
  • September 29, 1974 - became suffragan of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao.
